Giant’s Kurt Sorge Wins 2009 Châtel Mountain Style

showing one reason why he won 2009 Châtel Mountain Style

Giant’s freeride phenom Kurt Sorge won a HUGE event over the July 4th weekend at Châtel Mountain Style 2009, in the French resort of Portes du Soleil. This is the third Châtel Mountain Style contest, an international downhill mountain-biking event for professionals and amateurs in freeride and slopestyle.
The course is 300 meters long, and it’s specially configured to provide plenty of spectacle. Kurt placed first among an amazing crowd of pros, beating (in order) Darren Berrecloth, Fabien Pedemanaud, Aari Barrett, and Steve Romaniuk -- who only placed 5th despite having help design the extremely technical course. The pros were judged for speed, agility…and tricks! Check out the video of the event , You don’t have to speak French to see why Kurt won! His winning run occurs about 10 minutes into this 11and a half minute video.
