Just prior to beginning their 2009 race season, the Giant Pro Mountain Bike Team completed a weeklong camp at Woodward West in Stallion Springs, CA. Situated in the San Joaquin Mountains, 15 miles from Tehachapi and 2 hours north of Los Angeles, Woodward West is a premier action sport summer camp designed for young athletes.

Woodward West provides cutting-edge facilities for sports like mountain biking, dirt jumping, skateboarding, BMX freestyle and inline skating. Here’s what Giant MTB pro Adam Craig -- 2008 US National XC and Super D Champion and a member of the 2008 US Olympic MTB team -- had to say about the team camp at Woodward West:

“It’s been a super good time. Look where we’re at! There’s a bunch of big hills around and the training proper for us endurance athletes is pretty spectacular. We can climb hills, check out some scenery, and ride some trails so we have what we need here, for sure. It’s even at altitude—4000 feet, the perfect altitude. This place is rad. There’s everything here for a young action sports-oriented chap or lass. It’s awesome. There’s a bunch of free ride trails right here, tons of skate parks and gymnastic stuff, foam pits, everything you could ever want. As an Olympic distance cross country mountain biker the more time I can spend in the skate park really focusing on my balance and line selection, the better! I’ve been more sore from shredding in Hangar 18 than I have been from any activity in recent memory!”
