TCR Advanced SL Team in Bicycling

The January / February issue of Bicycling magazine features the 2009 Giant TCR Advanced SL Team bicycle in an article titled “And Now, Even Faster.” Editor Joe Lindsey spends quite a bit of time talking design and construction and goes deep into Giant’s objectives in building the best-balanced bike in the pro peloton: a bicycle that’s lightweight, stiff, and comfortable. Giant’s Industrial Designer Erik Klemm is quoted extensively in the two-page spread. Ultimately, what readers want to know of course is what the editor thinks. And here’s part of Joe Lindsey’s assessment: “While the TCR Advanced SL is built for ProTour-level performance, what surprised me was how comfortable it is.” And he goes on to say, “…it’s one of the few bikes responsive, stiff and light enough to satisfy the demands of top pro racers—and forgiving enough for those of us who don’t earn a paycheck in the peloton.”
