GWR TEAM’S SINCLAIR SPRINTS TO WIN

Dunsfold Park plays host to Sinclair’s 10th victory of 2009

David Sinclair entered the Surrey League's Dunsfold Summer Series race on the 9th June, a handicap race of eleven laps around the flat Dunsfold Park airfield circuit.  With tough competition and a large advantage for the first group of riders Sinclair’s chasing group managed to catch the lead group with three laps remaining.

A huge bunch sprint ensued on the close of the final lap and Sinclair pushed into the lead with 250m to go, managing to hold off every other rider to take the win by half a bike length. The win was Sinclair’s 10th of 2009 made even more impressive by the fact he doesn’t consider bunch sprinting as one of his strengths.

After the race Sinclair commented, “I was pretty chuffed with that because I never really thought of myself as a bunch sprinter.”
