ENDURA RACING TEAM TAKE ON THE GIRVAN
This weekend saw the Endura Racing Team compete in the Girvan Stage Race where they were hoping to continue the momentum from last weekend’s success in the second Super Six race.
The team who featured recently on Eurosport’s coverage of the Tour of The Reservoir riding their 2009 TCR Advanced SL bicycles, competed at the second Super Six race of the Season in Fife. Endura showed their strength in Scotland by controlling the action and taking 1st, 2nd and 4th positions for Gary Hand, Gordon Murdoch and Duncan Urquhart respectively. This was followed by a week of training and preparation for Easter Weekend’s 40th Girvan stage race.
Competing in a strong field the team’s best chance of success seemed to lie in the King Of The Mountains classification as the race progressed. Gary Hand was in a good position stage to be crowned King Of The Mountains coming into the fourth and final but a huge crash saw the end of Endura’s KOM hopes and a hospital visit for the injured rider – we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery. Callum Wilkinson fared better finishing as second Scottish Rider and in 17th in the overall classification.
