MOUNTAIN BIKE SENDS A VALENTINE TO THE REIGN 1

(February 14, 2008) MOUNTAIN BIKE magazine has spread some love to Giant’s Reign 1 in the April 2008 issue, which also features The 2008 Buyer’s Guide. The all-mountain Reign 1 gets the following on page 54:

“...is it possible for one bike to suffice? Yes in the case of the Reign 1, a moderately priced all-mountain rig that hits more sweet spots than Haagen-Dazs. There is very little this bike can’t do.”

And on page 40, MOUNTAIN BIKE really goes to town examining the aluminum weld on the Giant Reign 2, in an article titled “Eye Candy.” Here are a couple of the pithy comments:

“In years past, bikes welded overseas played second fiddle to handcrafted domestic frames. One look at the beautiful welds on the head-tube junction of Giant’s Reign line of bikes, and you’ll agree that those days are long gone. All of Giant’s frames are hand-welded by both male and female staff welders who spend about six months in training before moving up to the primary weld line, located in Taichung, Taiwan.”
