MARC JENKINS 5TH AT WINDSOR

First race in 3 years following long-term injury

Following three years out with injury including numerous operations, triathlete Marc Jenkins returned to competitive action this weekend at the Windsor Triathlon.

Jenkins who was racing on his Giant TCR Advanced SL was part of the lead pack out of the water and remained so on the bike, looking comfortable to be sat towards the front of the action. The chasing pack caught up towards T2 and the start of the run, which Jenkins ran solidly for the first 6km before slowing up with 4km to go.

Jenkins commented, “I tied up with 4km to go which was expected due to lack of training.”

Jenkins finished in 01:54:28, a great result after so long out of competitive racing and he was positive about the result and his potential moving forward.

“Things can only improve now towards the later part of the season and next year. I'm looking forward to being able to continue with my training after my first race back.”
