Kurt Sorge takes second at the Red Bull Rampage

SORGE RIDES GIANT TO PODIUM IN RAMPAGE!

(October 7, 2008) Giant freerider Kurt Sorge has taken 2nd place in the Red Bull Rampage, undeniably the biggest freeride competition anywhere.

Only 19 years old, Sorge bested some of the biggest names in freeride to take his place on the podium in the Red Rock Hills near Virgin, Utah, alongside winner Brandon Semenuk and 3rd place finisher Thomas Vanderham.

Kurt’s best finish ever in a major competition came aboard a new, proto-type long travel Giant bike featuring Maestro suspension.

Here’s how pinkbike.com describes Kurt’s day in the finals:
“Rode one of the gnarliest lines up top…which included a big step down in a very exposed section. Ended up being the first person to moto whip the big 60 foot gap. Second run went the same until he tried to super can the 60 footer. Kurt didn't get his feet back on the pedals, but it was still one of the sickest things all weekend.”
